Valley AFC Arsenal League Play - Fall 2010

Valley AFC Arsenal has Great News about our league affiliations for the Fall 2010. The Arsenal will have teams playing in two leagues, the Blue Ridge Class League (BRCL) and the Skyline League Premier League.

We talked about moving into the the Skyline South this fall. The members of the BRCL made a decision to keep the league going, while adding teams from the Roanoke Star, New River Soccer Club and Smith Mountain Lake Soccer Club. The BRCL currently has 94 teams committed to play this fall, up 32% from last fall (71 teams).

The Skyline Premier League has extended an offer to 8 of Valley AFC Arsenal teams. Playing in the league will allow our teams to face strong competition against larger clubs from the region. We will have "block" scheduling, meaning all 8 teams will play at the same place and on the same days.  The Skyline Premier League teams consist of:

SOCA
Augusta FC
Shenandoah Valley United
Central Virginia United
Roanoke Star Soccer Club
New River United Soccer Club

Below is a list of our Arsenal teams and what league they will play in this fall.

We are pleased to announce that the Valley AFC Travel program will now be known as Valley AFC Arsenal.

In an effort to exemplify our unity as a Travel club and to better promote our club regionally, Valley AFC decided this spring to adopt one team name that all our individual travel teams would share. We polled our club members and "Valley AFC Arsenal" was the clear winner, capturing 60% of the vote. The next closest choice only received 14%. Thank you to all who share our enthusiasm for this change and took the time to vote. Go Arsenal!
