WHAT IS THE VALLEY AFC SOCCER SCHOOL?

The Valley AFC Soccer School will incorporate the old KIX and Academy programs, offered over the past few years, and put them under one player development umbrella. The aim of the Soccer School is to provide extra training for those kids and parents that would like a little more professional training and all year round development. The focus will be on the player, and their technical development, through quality instruction and playing with other individuals that share your love for the game and for Valley AFC.

IS THE SOCCER SCHOOL FOR MY CHILD?

• Do you desire extra professional training by someone that has played the game and is a licensed coach?
• Is your child interested in becoming a better individual player?
• Does your child need to gain more confidence with a soccer ball?
• Is your child looking to move into travel soccer one day?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions you should register your child for soccer school.

VALLEY AFC SOCCER SCHOOL "LITTLE STRIKERS" (ages 4-7)

Little Strikers is for the young soccer player, ages 4-7 years old. Players will learn how to play soccer in a fun environment that will allow them the maximum number of touches on the ball. Sessions will be coached by great teachers of the game. Players will follow a curriculum specifically designed to teach the young player the basic fundamentals of the game, culminating in a 3v3 tournament at the end of the 6 week block.

WHO WILL BE RUNNING THE SOCCER SCHOOL?

Betsy Adkins, Soccer Director for Valley AFC, will oversee the program in it's entirety. The Soccer School will also utilize travel and recreational coaches currently working with Valley AFC teams, as well as, high school and collegiate players.

WHAT IS THE COST?

A series of six sessions will cost a total of $70 per player. Each player will receive a Valley AFC Soccer School T-shirt as part of the fee.

WHERE WILL THE SESSIONS BE HELD?

All sessions will be held at the XPEDX fields located on Apperson Drive. The sessions will run on Saturday mornings between 9:00-10:00am on the following dates.

Items to bring to Little Strikers training: water, shin guards, and a soccer ball (if you have one). Dress in layers to accomodate changing weather. Sturdy sneakers are fine, or soccer cleats.

VALLEY AFC SOCCER SCHOOL "ACADEMY" (ages 8-10)

This program is for the recreational player and parent that would like additional professional training outside of the normal practices with their teams. The sessions will be held two days a week. One session will be devoted to skill development and technical training and one to in-house small sided games.

A group of players will be selected at the end of the season to compete in a local tournament as the Valley AFC Soccer School. Players will be selected by the staff based on ability and attendance.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO BE A MEMBER OF THE SOCCER SCHOOL ACADEMY?

It will cost $110 per player per season. The Soccer School will be offered fall and spring. This includes weeks of training (10 sessions) and a T-shirt.

Practices will be held Wednesdays 6:00-7:30pm, and Satyrdays 10:30-Noon.

Dress in layers, bring water, wear shin guards and soccer cleats, and bring a soccer ball.
