Alan Crowder Pens Deal With Valley AFC

Valley AFC is delighted to announce that early this afternoon Alan Crowder put pen to paper on a deal that will see him coach for VAFC Xpress starting in the Fall 2014 season.

Alan comes to VAFC from Roanoke Star where he spent 8 years as a coach and director. As Roanoke Star’s former Academy Director and, most recently, Director of Player Development, Alan brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge, both on the field and off. Knowledge Alan will now impart on players here at Valley AFC.

Valley AFC Director of Soccer, Dave Stuart, had this to say; “Alan is an excellent acquisition for us. I know he is excited about the switch and so am I. Alan brings a high level of coaching to the table, but more than that; during our discussions leading up to the deal it was clear that he has the same philosophy as we do here at Valley AFC, that of player development, growing the sport and instilling a love for the game onto those he is around. Alan spent some time with Tom (VAFC Director of Administration), Gina (VAFC Office Manager) and I at the field this past weekend and it was evident how much he loved the game, he was clearly excited by what lays ahead.”

Crowder will coach the Xpress U13G and U16G this coming Fall season.

A native of the area, Alan graduated from Salem High School before moving on to Bridgewater College where he came away with a double major in Allied Health Science and Nutrition/Wellness.
